electronic steering wheel lock

Hi new to forum.
anyone got any info on electronic steering wheel lock. its a 55 plate 525 d se
warning comes up saying electric steering wheel lock is inhibiting engine start. turn steering wheel
but it does not inhibit engine start.?
it goes off after a few seconds but comes back on every time i put key in ingnition.
only had the car for a few days. may have to take it back if no answer

Hi,
There has been a few cases of this on cars with the electronic lock... basically it will need to be tested. It is very likely that it is the electronic steering lock in the steering column. It needs to be tested because it will either need a software reprogramming or the steering column replaced with a new updated lock...

does it have any warranty?

luckily i took out a comprehensive warranty on it. so it should be ok.
