changed fuel filter then car started to pull back as if running ou of diesel then going again

only lost power after changing filter been on machine and said might be sensor but the garage not sure so thought would ask for more advice first

can i confirm what model you have?

the garage need to be running OBD-II diagnostic tools and fault reader codes... If it is a sensor problem, it should show up here..

the loss of power problem is now ok when the car is running it is fine but unfortunately now the car will start one min then later wont start then all of a sudden it will start again and be fine any ideas

well, if you have had the fault codes read, then a problem like that would have shown up...

So now id suspect a relay...

Either the fuel pump relay or the DDE relay... Id lean towards the DDE relay, but it could be either...

Is the car at the garage or do you have access to it.?

car will start when cold runs well but unfortunatley might not start the next time after being left for a while will start have just change the crankshaft sensor after being on machine thought this had solved the problem but unfortunatley not anything else i can try the car is a bmw 530 diesel automatic
