2002 X5 AC Air conditioning problem

Hi all, I just bought the 2002 X5 3.0 and yesterday, when I start the car and turn on the AC, it only blow in the back and NOTHING blow in the front, then I turn the car off few times and then it blow again both back and front. Do you have any idea what going on? Is that they have some kind of the switch that only blow in the back only, OR some kind of air control problem? Greatly appreaciated!!!!!!
