Z4 soft top

Hi guys got my 04 plate 3ltr Z4 last friday and been reading through the manual and it says you can remotely retract the roof via the keyfob by holding down unlock and vise versa doesnt appear to work and it says in the book this feature has to be enabled. Do BMW have to do this and if so how much or is there a way you can do it yourself perhaps? bounce

Do you have the option extra, comfort access? This in part is the mobile roof retract via the keyfob ability.

If you do have it and it doesnt work, the system will need to be looked at, but most likely the fob will need to be reprogrammed.

Ive changed your response slightly slinky,.... It is only in part, part of the comfort access.... Amongst other things, This system works by the car recognising the key and then unlocks (keyless entry) and it setting the car up to your specific driving preference such as wing mirrors, seats, audio, lights etc once you get in.... I will dig out the brochure on this, should any one want it...

Ahh, of course, but in before april 2004, the z4 didnt leave the factory with the remote roof retraction, so this could be why.

What is the manufacturer date of your car?
