Electric door mirrors

Hi All.
I have just purchase a 2003 BMW 320D E46, and my Electric door mirrors don’t work: I’ve had a look at the fuse and it had blown a 5 amp fuse, I only had a 10 amp so I tried that, the mirrors do work but smoke was coming from the angle control so I’ve took it out.
Can anyone help with what is the problem: Please
