Hi,
A few problems and wonder if anyone can help?

Firstly my ciggarette lighter does not work, I've checked the fuses and they all seem fine but no power is supplied from the socket when I plug in a charger ect, the socket itself looks a little corroded could this be the problem and are they hard to exchange?
Also my warning light to tell me the boot is open stays on even though its locked? and I'm wondering if this could be linked to the rear wiper and water jet not working, when I try to operate the wiper there is no movement, sound or anything, again i've checked the fuses and all seem fine?
If anyone could offer me any advice on where to start looking it would be greatly appreiciated.
Kind Regards,

Alex.

What year is the car?

The lighter is probably and earth fault, unplug the fuse and try giving it a clean with some wire wool or a wire brush.

As for the wiper, it could be one of a couple of things, namely a faulty stalk, wiper motor, or possibly a relay.

The boot light again sounds like a corroded connection as the circuit isn't closing, there should be some contacts on the tailgate & boot lip; again, try cleaning these with some wire wool.

Hi,
Many thanks for your advice, my tourer is a R reg 98 model,
I tried cleaning the ciggarette lighter out with wire wool then replacing the fuse, and still no luck with it (is it worth replacing, not sure how difficult this is to do?)
The contacts on the tail gate I also cleaned with the wool but i'm not quite sure these are the right ones i'm cleaning if that makes any sense (all I could see were two metal domes on each side of the tailgate near the edge and they look like they close onto rubber) after cleaning the light is still on saying the boot is still open.
I havent got round to the rear wiper yet, thought i'd try and locate the correct relay and change that first (cheapest place to start i'm guessing)
Any more advice would be greatly apprieciated.

Kind Regards,

Alex.
