e46 steptronic ASC fault

Hi I am new to this forum,
the last time I drove my car was in the snow, not hard driving but I had the ASC on parked up, no problems. One week later started the car up and the warning light came on for tailgate light for the gearbox display. After a few hours of warming the car up all the displays went back to normal. The problem now is if you rev the car 2500 revs the ASC light comes on along with the EML light and he car goes in to limp mode. This happens even if the car is stationary.
