e36 coupe knocking noise Empty e36 coupe knocking noise

Hi there Ive got a 316i e36 coupe and Im getting a loud knocking noise from the drivers side front suspenshion when going over bumps or speed bumps etc. Ive had car up on hoist everything seems to be ok but yet the seriously loud knocking noise still there when going over speed bumps and bumps in the road has anyone else had this prob? Question
